About the event
Speaker: Dr. Bryan Rhodes
Topic: Plain Old Goldfish: Rarer Breeds & Varieties in America
Dr. Bryan Rhodes was born and raised in Virginia. He is currently a professor of Biology at Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia. His educational background is in Ornithology, and he received his PhD in Zoology from the University of Otago in New Zealand. After returning from New Zealand in 2008, he began to keep goldfish and has been breeding them ever since.
This talk will give a background on the basics of goldfish history and husbandry. In addition, he will be discussing some of the rarer breeds of goldfish here in the USA (like the bubble-eye goldfish), and the different colorations and features of these breeds developed through the years, and the techniques for judging them.
