Long-time PVAS club member, John Mangan will give a presentation on "Collecting Fishes in Mexico," the talk that he will be doing at the American Livebearers Association Convention in April. John's talk focuses on goodeids, as that is his main interest and purpose of his collecting trips.

John has been in the hobby his whole life. He managed his family's stores for 25 years, then spent 10 years managing a fish wholesale business. He has a BS in Biology from George Mason and has been a member of PVAS for over 30 years.

John's 50-tank fish room focuses on livebearers. He has been a member of the ALA for longer than he’s been a PVAS member, and currently serves on their board of directors. He has been chairman of the ALA’s species maintenance program for a number of years and was editor of their journal for several years as well.
